Settling-in starts with a two-hour session where parents are warmly invited to stay and support their child as they explore the nursery environment. For the second session, we kindly ask parents to say goodbye, giving children the chance to develop independence while knowing our caring team is there to support and reassure them every step of the way.

During these sessions, your child will spend time with their key person – a dedicated staff member who will build a close bond with your child, providing consistency and reassurance.

We encourage parents to share information about their child’s interests, routines, and any concerns they may have. Open communication helps us create a tailored settling-in plan that supports your child’s unique needs.

Each child’s transition is planned individually, considering their developmental readiness, emotional wellbeing, and relationships with peers and staff.

Similar to settling-in sessions, transitions between rooms involve gradual visits to the new room. Your child will spend short periods in the new room, gradually increasing the time as they become more familiar with the environment and new key person.

We maintain close communication with parents throughout the transition process. Regular updates and conversations ensure you are informed and involved in your child’s progress and any adjustments needed.

Your child’s current key person will work closely with the new key person to ensure a smooth handover. They will share important information about your child’s routines, preferences, and developmental progress.

Where possible, we facilitate transitions with peers, allowing children to move with familiar friends, which can provide additional comfort and security.
